Our Story

The T-shirt Shop Kings Bay understands our community. Here's why. The new owner, Silvia Rainer, was born and raised in Brazil. After graduating from law school in Rio de Janeiro, she had her own law practice. She moved to Florida and immediately went to work becoming a US citizen. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone more patriotic than Silvia. She's toured Washington, DC, and visited the home of her favorite President, George Washington. Prior to purchasing the Tshirt Shop in 2024, she ended her career working from home for the State of Florida as a Case Manager where she briefed cases to seven Judges. Silvia has lived in Camden County since 2019 when her husband, David, retired from NASA.  They moved back here to be near his aging parents who have since passed.

 

David and Silvia believe that retiring from one career simply means there’s something new to contribute to with their time and energy.  Their love of this community is their reason to give back passionately. Therefore they have rebooted themselves into new roles with new purposes. As owner of The T-shirt Shop, Silvia looks forward every day to the people she will meet and the conversations she'll have. She's passionate about supporting the local schools, and the students who attend them.  Jinx, the Matilda Harris Elementary School mascot, occasionally shows up and gives her a high five! The men and women who serve at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay and the Coast Guard are fun and creative customers who consistently challenge her to develop exciting designs. How would you draw submarines and Coast Guard boats plying through angry krakens?! The T-shirt Shop did it!  Many churches are her customers and she has templates of many ready-to-go faith-based designs. 

 

Charities such as the Alzheimer's Walk turn to her for their shirts on which she diligently assured every sponsor is professionally displayed.  Have a family reunion or a family vacation coming up?  Silvia will work with you to create the fun design you’re looking for. Have a weekend group who gets together to watch football? She's made some fierce designs to cheer your team on! Silvia believes in quality of work and materials. You won't ever be left with a product that you're not happy with. Silvia looks forward every morning to serving coastal Georgia and Florida through her business and by contributing to her favorite charities and causes.
